This artwork is a satirical print of the famous 17th-century painting The Milkmaid by the Dutch Golden Age master Johannes Vermeer.

The 'speech bubble' design has been created by the British design brand Mineheart, which is well-known for its surreal, playful twists on classical historical paintings.

The original oil-on-canvas masterpiece, created around 1657–1658, is permanently housed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

This specific framed variation adds a modern comic speech bubble over the kitchen maid, reading: "Great acts are made up of small deeds."

The ‘Tao Master’ collection of art works bring together the old masters of fine art, and the wisdom of Taoism, the western and eastern, the yin and the yang, in a continuous and harmonious exchange.

Renaissance and Baroque masters searching for a “Way” to express and capture life through their paintings, and Taoism whispering the path (or “Way”) for a more enlightened and balanced life.

This little masterpiece is printed on stretched canvas and presented in a wooden frame crafted from black stained ash.
